Dizzying Dungeons!

As pointed out on Grognardia, Dizzy Dragon Games has put up an awesome new dungeon generator on their website. It looks good and has all sorts of features:

* Pregenerated monsters, treasures and traps;
* Dungeon dressing from the 1e DMG;
* Lots of interesting map features, such as statues, pillars, curtains, daises, raised galleries, pits, water, caves and rubble;
* Regular openings along the sides so you can use them as dungeon geomorphs!

Sadly, there’s no option to display the dungeon in the light blue coloring of an old-school TSR module, but that’s an insignificant quibble. This is superior to the best free online dungeon generators I’m familiar with, such as donjon or Gozzy’s. I highly recommend it!

    Very cool. Even though I’m designing my project by hand, it’s nice to have some example encounters/treasure layouts for different group levels for comparison.

    From the look of it, it uses the Red Box rules for randomly populating dungeon rooms, which are pretty straightforward.

    Ok. My character has gone through about six of those this morning and is now fifth level. Huzzah! I’ll let you know what magic items and followers I’ve gained next Glantri session, Eric.

    @naked: Sadly, your character stumbled into a nest of thief-wights on the way home and is now first level with no possessions whatsoever. It’s a terrible shame, but I rolled it on the random encounter table fair and square.

    The whole map is built from smaller geomorphs, so uhm, yeah.
    I do like the detail of geomorph generators, but the PCs eventually notice the cookie cutters.
