White Box Archaeology: More Lakofka Goodies!

Greyharp over at ODD74 has taken Len Lakofka’s Pyrologist and compiled it into a booklet along with additional Lakofka class material from Liaisons Dangereuses—the Hobbit Druid, the Hobbit/Dwarf Cleric-Fighter and the Dwarf Craftsman. The booklet is styled in the manner of the OD&D supplements.

Thanks to Greyharp for putting this together! View his discussion thread on the subject here; it includes links to various incarnations of the PDF.

Thanks to you Eric, it was your post about the Pyrologist that inspired me.

It’s good to have all that info in one place, especially when it’s presented so cleanly and crisply!

Of the material present, the Dwarven Craftsman is of particular interest. They have a wide range of abilities, some mundane and some magical, ranging from those which are usable at will to others that have idiosyncratic limitations on their use. You can even occasionally turn out permanent magical items, explaining the prevalence of +1 arms and armor!

I love the Craftsman’s temporary magicking of weapons which may, on a random roll, become permanent or erase a previous magical property.
